I’m sitting deep in the forest somewhere along the Appalachian trail when I look up and notice the suns rays splintered into a myriad of individual beams by the dark green forest canopy yet as they reach me there is only one. The light envelops me in a warmth and radiance that at once nourishes me while further quieting my already still mind, I am ever so slightly transported beyond my noisy daily self to a different place and just as quickly I return as I try and capture it with my thoughts.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. – Albert Einstein
An Active Intention Slowly Stirred
It’s my opinion that the term Nature Infused Self-Renewal should be emblazoned on every sign leading to a hiking trail or maybe it could be an alternative to gym class in high school, I suspect it would have a high signup rate. Think about the last time you spent a few hours or even a few days out in nature either by yourself or with colleagues, what was your experience like? Nature offers us an almost instant infusion of creative and innovative vitality, a vitality rarely found in such easily accessible quantities elsewhere.
Nature is a core feature of Generative Dialogue for all the reasons I’ve written about above as well as for its seemingly magical ability to transform the listening and communication abilities of creative and innovative management teams. You can start with a team that rubber stamps the suggestions of the same one or two people on the team and after Dialogue training including Nature Infused Self-Renewal the teams collaboration and participation skyrocket.
The videos I’ve selected in the list below are all looks at different inspiring shades of nature and being outdoors, the first one is a team orientated one and the rest are more of the solo type. I hope you’ll both enjoy and get some motivation from them. It’d be great if you could leave a comment or a thumbs up under the one you like the most. For fun I added a mix of Zen Koans or selected thoughts to each video.
All growth is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous, unpremeditated act without benefit of experience. – Henry Miller

There is healing in the trees for tired minds and for our overburdened spirits, there is strength in the hills, if only we will lift up our eyes. Remember that nature is your great restorer. – Calving Coolidge
